Casita sul Mar

A romantic retreat in the hidden heart of Vila Vella, within the ancient walls of the Castle of Tossa de Mar.

Here, where time seems to slow down almost to a standstill and the worn stones tell stories of the sea, the wind, and knights of old, Casita sul Mar lies tucked away — a rare and precious home, one of the very few private residences preserved within the medieval walls.

Warm and full of charm, it can accommodate up to five guests.

Two bathrooms and harmonious living spaces offer comfort and intimacy: soft, welcoming interiors designed for sharing authentic moments together.

Just a few steps from the statue dedicated to Ava Gardner, the house rests like a small jewel suspended between the sky and the Mediterranean.

In the morning, the air is scented with salt and fresh light: simply open the windows to watch the sunrise emerge from the sea, painting the sky pink and gold while the village still sleeps.

In the evening, from a privileged vantage point, you can see the sun slowly slip behind the walls and stone rooftops, gifting warm and endless sunsets.

In just three minutes on foot, you can reach Playa Gran and Cala d’es Codolar, two enchanting coves where the water is crystal clear and the sea gently caresses the shore with a hypnotic sound.

In less than a minute, cobblestone alleys lead to the most renowned restaurants, the soft lights of taverns, the aromas of local cuisine, and the vibrant soul of the historic center.

Casita sul Mar is not just a house:

it is an intimate and romantic experience, a refuge for the soul, a rare privilege sheltered within the walls of history, and a memory destined to remain in your heart.

Tossa de Mar is the true gem of the Costa Brava, located about 80 km from Barcelona. It is a beautiful town with a perfectly preserved historic center overlooking the sea. The place is so remarkable that the Ciutat Vella was declared a National Historic-Artistic Monument as early as 1931. The fortified walls surrounding the old town are the only example of a medieval fortified village still visible along the entire Costa Brava.

Although the original construction dates back to the 12th century, the current walls are the result of a reconstruction carried out in 1387 to defend the town from Moorish pirate raids. Almost the entire original perimeter remains, with three large cylindrical towers known as Codolar, de las Horas, and de Joanes. The newer tourist area of the town is clean and well organized, offering a good selection of hotels, restaurants, and bars. Unlike nearby Lloret de Mar, a youthful and party-oriented destination, tourism in Tossa is more refined and of a higher standard. For anyone wishing to discover the most beautiful part of the Costa Brava, Tossa de Mar is an almost mandatory stop.
